Rain Dance World Record Attempt

To raise awareness of the Focus Ireland charity and also to raise much needed funds for the work they do, PEI decided to host a one off "World Record Attempt" on May 29th 2011. This was thought to be an original and fun fundraiser, and something everyone could get involved in … and the World Record ... the LARGEST RAIN DANCE in the world.

The event proved to be a huge success, with PEI smashing the previous record by 161 people. In total 395 participants danced, chanted and made their mark on the Guinness World Records. The final numbers were verified by Katie Forde, an adjudicator from the Guinness World Records organisation.

A very sincere thanks to all who attented and all who supported this generous cause! Please note that it isn't too late to support the event. Please click here if you would like to make a contribution. All contributions gratefully accepted.

In early 2011, PEI began working with Focus Ireland, the Irish housing and homelessness charity, and particularly a project of theirs in Aylward Green, Dublin, where they provide emergency accommodation for families and provide services specifically designed to cater for children. This is the only centre of its kind in Ireland.
