Established in 1963, PEI is a leading surgical and medical device distributor in Ireland. The company specialises in the distribution of a number of medical device areas throughout Ireland, including: orthopaedics; cardiac; operating room; neuroscience; pain management; sleep and respiratory medicine; and, dialysis.

In 2002, PEI extended its portfolio to include the distribution of dental and medical products to more than 4,500 Medical Practices and Dental Surgeries throughout Ireland, when it purchased Promed. 

In 2005, PEI expanded its portfolio further, when it moved directly into patient care, with the establishment of a Dialysis Clinic concept in Galway, under the Wellstone brand.
