Patient Services
In 2005, PEI expanded its portfolio, when it moved directly into patient care, with the establishment of a series of Dialysis Clinics, in Galway and Kilkenny, under the Wellstone brand. This followed PEI's more than 10 years in the distribution of Dialysis products to Renal Centres throughout the country. Wellstone Clinics are dedicated to the treatment of patients with renal failure and have been established to supplement and support the existing renal services being offered in the public health service.
The Clinics established to date have filled a sinificant gap in services which were evident in the South East and Western areas of the country. In the three years since their establishment, they have earned a strong reputation as Centres of Excellence in the renal care field, with first class remote IT systems and world class infection control statistics.
In 2009, this model was extended still further, to include the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart related issues, with the establishment of the Cardio Clinic at the Vista Primary Care Campus in Naas.
The Cardio Clinic is a dedicated heart clinic run by a multi-disciplinary team of cardiac professionals, including consultant cardiologists, clinical physiologists, nursing and administrative staff; and appointment is by GP referral only.
