The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will be involved in the continuing development and support of our Vascular business.   As a critical member of our team, your role will be to work closely with Key Decision Makers (KDMs) in the marketplace and their multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring that PEI maintains and attains key market share. This will require you to attend and provide support at relevant theatre cases, educating and promoting to KDMs. Equally, and in conjunction with the Director of Commercial Innovation, you will partake in the development of business strategies to ensure the continued success of this business. The key component of PEI’s Vascular offering is to ensure that sales are optimised in a profitable manner.
While PEI has a 32 county focus your primary responsibility will be the South of Ireland, however a flexible approach will be required as travel will occur to cover other areas throughout the country.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have a passion for healthcare, a strong business acumen and a can-do mindset

  • A relevant professional registration, certification, or other credentialing as appropriate in Clinical Vascular Science and/or Ultrasound
  • Clinical experience in hospital and/or alternate site care setting

Roles & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Sales and working with the wider team your role and responsibilities reflect PEI’s key principals:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Identify and support field sales efforts through clinical and educational customer needs assessment, product and procedural training, in-servicing, and required customer follow up (i.e., letters, approved product information, samples, educational materials, professional guidelines and standards related to best practices, and clinical/evidence based research articles)
  • Manage all business-associated administrative tasks and responsibilities to support job related activities; to include  strict  adherence  to  the  PEI  Surgical  policies  and  procedures,  timely  filing of  required  and/or requested reports, and documentation of activities via approved documents and forms
  • Keep current with medical literature, clinical  initiatives/guidelines, competitive  landscape, and industry trends and communicate with sales management, marketing and other appropriate corporate departments.
  • Participate in educational, scientific, and promotional activities at identified local, regional, and national tradeshows/exhibitions
  • Provide written and verbal  communication  to  sales  management  regarding  field  activity  and account information

Customer Support:

  • Responsible for a variety of customers within own market
  • Required to provide clinical and technical support and advise to ensure customer relationships are maintained and sales targets are achieved.
  • Responsible for supporting product that provide solutions to the customers

Relationship Management:

  • Establish in-depth relationships with customers, instantly gaining credibility and trust based on specialist knowledge
  • Recognise formal and informal power structures and be competent in tailoring your approach to successfully influence the decisions and choices of your customers, recognising that Key Decision Makers are critical in this process
  • Develop relationships with external bodies relevant to our sector
  • Proactively shares knowledge and provides assistance and advice to colleagues

Business Development:

  • Within existing customer base, you will build on first level business development activities to retain business
  • Actively carries out research to identify opportunities to further increase sales
  • Identify new opportunities and secure business development targets
  • Provide input into marketing strategies

Commercial Awareness:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the objectives and priorities of your own market and a good working knowledge of other markets/areas
  • Aware of the importance of budgets and stock control and how to apply basic principles to same
  • Where  appropriate  participate  in  contractual discussions  within  the  framework  of  agreed  policies  and procedures but requiring sign off by Director of Commercial Innovation
  • Provide input into PEI’s tendering process as required
