First Promote Quadra CRT-D Implanted

PEI was delighted to facilitate the first Irish implantation of St Jude Medical’s Promote Quadra™ CRT-D with LV Quartet™ Lead, which was successfully implanted on 29th June, in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, Dublin by Dr Niall Mahon Consultant Cardiologist and Heart Failure Specialist.

The Promote Quadra™ CRT-D is the industry's first Quadripolar pacing system, offering physician’s the ability to more effectively and efficiently manage the ever-changing pacing needs of patients with heart failure. It integrates multiple pacing configurations and features that enable physicians to optimise the system at implant and follow-up, as well as better manage common complications without having to surgically reposition the LV lead.

According to Dr Mahon, “The most significant clinical complication in this particular case was PNS. The Quartet™ lead from St Jude Medical with its ten multivector pacing options allowed me to overcome this problem without compromising on position or stability.”
