Enhanced Recovery Meeting Video Podcasts Now Available
The video podcasts from PEI’s recent Enhanced Recovery: Developing a Strategy for the Future meeting are now available on the company’s website.
The meeting brought together two of the UK’s leading experts in the area, Prof. Monty Mythen, Professor of Anaesthesia & Critical Care, University College London (UCL) and Mr. Alan Horgan, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon, Freeman Hospital, Newcastle. Both are joint national leads for the UK Department of Health’s Enhanced Recovery Partnership programme.
Also speaking was Dr. Noreen P. Dowd who discussed her experiences with oesophageal doppler monitoring at St. James's Hospital.
There is a podcast available for each of the talks given:
•“Update on the National Enhanced Recovery Programme for England” – given by Prof Michael (Monty) Mythen
•“Enhanced Recovery After Surgery: Development of a National Programme” – given by Mr Alan Horgan
• “Feedback on Targeted Volume Management using Oesophageal Doppler Monitor in Patients Undergoing Major Colorectal Surgery – The St. James’s Hospital Experience” – given by Dr Noreen P. Dowd
A video podcast is also available of the panel discussion which followed the talks (also featuring Ms Deborah McNamara, Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin).
Education is an important part of PEI’s service offering and it is hoped that value will be gained from making the talks from the meeting available in a video podcast format.
