PEI Announces Speakers for its Upcoming Enhanced Recovery Meeting

PEI has announced the speakers for its upcoming Enhanced Recovery: Developing a Strategy for the Future meeting, taking place on Wednesday, 2nd May at the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland.

Attendees will hear talks from:

Prof. Michael (Monty) Mythen
Smiths Medical Professor of Anaesthesia and Critical Care, University College Hospital, London
Speaking on:
“Update on the National Enhanced Recovery Programme for England”

Mr Alan Horgan
Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and National Clinical Lead for the Department of Health’s Enhanced Recovery Partnership Programme
Speaking on:
“Principles and Practice of Enhanced Recovery”

Dr Noreen P. Dowd
Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in Cardiac Anaesthesia, St. James’s Hospital
Speaking on:
“Feedback on Targeted Volume Management using Oesophageal Doppler Monitor in Patients Undergoing Major Colorectal Surgery – The St. James’s Hospital Experience”

The talks will then be followed by a panel discussion by the speakers.Ms Deborah McNamara,
Consultant General & Colorectal Surgeon, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, will also be joining the panel.

The meeting will be chaired by Prof. Donal J. Buggy, Consultant in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine.
