PEI Launches Deltex CardioQ-ODM at Dublin Medical Innovation Showcase

PEI officially launched the Deltex CardioQ-ODM at the Irish Medical and Surgical Trade Association’s (IMSTA)* ‘Medical Innovation Showcase’ conference which took place on Wednesday, 5th October.

In attendance was Mr. Sean Sherlock, TD, Minister of State, Department of Enterprise, Jobs & Innovation with Responsibility for Research & Innovation, who learned how the CardioQ-ODM and other medical technologies and innovations could improve patient lives and the economy whilst cutting healthcare costs by up to €1 billion.

Along with other delegates, Mr. Sherlock learned how the CardioQ-ODM’s technology, which uses the Doppler principle of ultrasound to monitor blood flow and fluid changes during major surgery, would result in significant savings through reduced hospital stays (due to fewer complications and infections) and enhanced recovery post-surgery.

Reflecting findings by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) on the application of the CardioQ-ODM in the UK, the Irish Health System could potentially save €100 million annually by adopting the new technology.

These savings highlight the many benefits to be gained by hospitals and patients alike from adopting technologies such as the CardioQ-ODM.

Events such as the ‘Medical Innovation Showcase’ organised by IMSTA provide an ideal platform for demonstrating these benefits to key decisions makers.

If you would like more information about the CardioQ-ODM, please contact your local hospital representative or call PEI directly on +353 1 419 6900.
