PEI welcomes Sandel Healthcare Safety Devices to Ireland

PEI is delighted to introduce the SANDEL range of healthcare safety devices to the Irish market. This follows Ansell's acquisition of SANDEL in July, 2011 allowing Ansell to extend its reach into the perioperative environment with the complete SANDEL line of healthcare safety devices.

The launch of the line supports Ansell’s growth strategy into the Safety and Infection-Prevention arena, as well as complementing its leading portfolio of hand-protection solutions.

Sandel sharps-safety and ergonomics products minimise injury-risk for healthcare workers, while Sandel Time Out® products support the WHO Surgical Checklist, which if correctly implemented, could prevent approximately 500,000 patient fatalities from surgical errors annually.*

By collaborating with nurses, surgical teams, and healthcare experts, Ansell has been able to identify important safety issues and determine how the standard of care can be elevated to reduce safety hazards for both patients and healthcare staff. The resulting SANDEL products have been developed to resolve the specific safety needs identified in a cost-effective manner. It is Ansell's hope that these innovative healthcare safety devices will deliver the added confidence and peace of mind all healthcare professionals need to perform at their best.
