PEI delighted to support upcoming DAA Community Meeting

PEI is delighted to support an upcoming meeting of the Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) Community which takes place later this month.

The meeting, entitled Anterior Hip Replacement: The Roadmap to Success will take place at the Osprey Hotel, Naas, Co. Kildare on Friday, 22nd February from 3.00 to 6.00pm. The meeting will be follow by dinner.

With years of experience, the faculty will present on appropriate Surgical Technique, Retractor Replacement, Femoral & Acetabular Release, handy Tips & Tricks and how to avoid certain pitfalls.

The faculty consists of:

  • Mr David Cogley, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Hermitage Medical Clinic
  • Mr. Paul McKenna, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, University Hospital Waterford
  • Mr. Fiachra Rowan, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, University Hospital Waterford


Delegates will be a mix of Consultants and senior registrars interested in the DAA approach. 

This meeting really kickstarts the DAA community in Ireland. Other countries have started this journey already, specifically the Netherlands who are in their 5th year. I

The purpose of the community is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and learning in an open environment in order to learn from and discuss different surgical topics with peers in the industry. This forum will enable efficient learning and the correct adoption of the technique.
