PEI Supports National Cappagh Nurses' Meeting

PEI was delighted to once again support the National Cappagh Orthopaedic Nurses' Conference, now in it's 12th year, on Wednesday 21st April, 2010.

This meeting was very well attended and there was a wealth of interesting presentations incorporating a wide range of surgical and nursing topics. Such topics included were:

  • "Use of Botox / benefits / indications /management / complications" presented by Ms. Noelle Cassidy, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, The Children’s University Hospital, Temple St., Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and CNOH
  • "The Irish Hip Fracture Database: One year results from a Regional Hospital in Mid-West Ireland" presented by Ms. Audrey Daly, CNS, Orthopaedics, Mid- Western Regional Hospital, Limerick, and
  • "The Oxford Cementless Unicompartmental Knee - The Belfast Experience, A recent study of our 1st 136 uni's and how they compare to our TKR’s" presented by Dr. Seamus O’Brien, Manager, Arthroplasty Outcomes Unit, Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast which started a discussion amongst the attendees on patient's hospital stay duration.


The day proved to be extremely interesting and all topics were well received by participants.
