PEI to support Mayo Arthroplasty Conference 2018

PEI is delighted to once more support the Mayo Arthroplasty Conference (MAC 18) which takes place between 20th - 22nd April, 2018.

The Mayo Arthroplasty Conference is now in its 10th year and has evolved into the largest specialist joint replacement conference in Ireland. There is an emphasis on covering current controversies and new technological advances in the fields of hip and knee replacement surgery.

The faculty is composed of prominent orthopaedic surgeons and key thought leaders in the field of arthroplasty from Ireland, the European Union and the United States. The program is renowned for its concise didactic lectures, debates on controversial issues and complex case presentations which aim to provide all the knowledge base a practising arthroplasty surgeon requires in a single weekend conference.

The conference rotates its focus annually between Primary Hip Replacement, Primary Knee Replacement and Revision Hip and Knee Replacement. This year, the theme of the Mayo Arthroplasty Conference will be Revision Hip and Knee Replacement.

The Mayo Arthroplasty Conference is aimed at specialist hip and knee arthroplasty surgeons, general orthopaedic surgeons who carry out hip and knee replacements and senior orthopaedic trainees with an interest in developing a career as an arthroplasty surgeon.

The event has become one of the largest orthopaedic meetings on the Irish calendar and is chaired by Mr. Derek Bennett, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mayo University Hospital.

PEI was on hand to showcase its extensive portfolio of knee and hip implants, including the Attune Knee and the Corail Hip, which have become very popular in recent years.

If you would like more information about PEI or its range of orthopaedic implants please contact your local PEI hospital representative or call PEI at +353 1 419 6900.
