The Tri-lock® Bone Preservation Stem is a combination of the Tri-lock® Stem’s proven design philosophy and newly enhanced features
The Tri- Lock® Hip System is a new tapered-wedge titanium stem from DePuy, that is engineered to preserve the natural anatomy, to deliver predictable performance, to contribute to OR efficiency and to deliver a high level if functional restoration to patients.
According to Daniel Gannon, a leading US surgeon and one of the first to implant the new stem, "The new Tri-Lock® Bone preservation Stem is less invasive when compared to more traditional systems, while maintaining the 27-year clinical heritage of the Tri-Lock® philosophy, with advancements in implant and instrument design enabling the surgeon's preferred technique. This hip system is engineered to offer a high level of stability and can be combined with many of DePuy's high performance bearing products, including metal-on-metal and ceramic -on- polyethylene, which can potentially reduce wear"
First introduced in 1981, the Tri-Lock®stem has a long clinical heritage; a full range of consistency in size and now features the unique Gription™ coating for maximum fixation.
In the coming weeks and months, Ireland will be central in the international adoption of Tri-Lock®, hosting International Centres of Excellence and International faculty members.
