Double "Great Places to Work®" Celebration for PEI

PEI was delighted to be once again officially recognised as a Best Workplace in Ireland 2014. This prestigious accolade was presented at the Great Place to Work® Awards in the DoubleTree by Hilton, Dublin (formerly the Burlington Hotel) on Wednesday 26th February. The event was attended by An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny T.D.

Commenting on the significant achievement for the listed companies, CEO of Great Place to Work Ireland John Ryan said, “This evening is all about recognition for both the staff and management at this year’s listed workplaces. They have proven the clear link between high trust and high performance. These organisations are ahead of the rest because they don’t deliver mere platitudes about the importance of their employees to their business; rather, they create a rich culture supported by people practices that ensure higher levels of collaboration, greater input into strategy development and vision shaping, and distributed decision making throughout their population – making sure that the people with the most relevant knowledge are tasked with making those decisions.”

The awards showcase organisations that hold a steadfast focus in ensuring their workplaces are the best that they can be and are testament to companies and employees who relentlessly strive to create a positive work culture.

For PEI this represents a double celebration. This was the second year in a row to be nominated as a Great Place to Work - moving up the ranks to 8th place. 2014 is special for a second reason too, as it sees Promed (a daughter company of PEI), also named in the Top 10, a wonderful achievement considering it was Promed's first time to enter the awards.

As one would expect, everyone across the two companies was delighted with the accolade.
