PEI supports “Flood Relief Fund” in Midlands Region

In keeping with its “Corporate Social Responsibility” ethos and also in an effort to fully comply with Business Integrity policy, PEI supports local charities each year in lieu of sending Christmas Cards and Corporate Gifts.

This year, PEI is supporting the “Flood Relief Fund” Charity which was set up in conjunction with St. Vincent de Paul,  following the appalling floods which hit several parts of Ireland in November, particularly the Midlands and West. The devastation experienced by so many people in this region during and since the flooding is immeasurable, with many families losing their entire possessions. This of course was compounded by the fact that many of those affected were not insured for their losses.

In an effort to help, PEI initiated a collection fund in its offices during November and this was supplemented by funds donated at a corporate level. Following a request from the charity, it was decided to divide the fund in two, with half being spent on children’s toys for Christmas and the other half being spent on supermarket vouchers.

We were delighted to learn that 2 pallets of toys were shipped to the area on December 15th and that supermarket vouchers will be distributed over the weekend of the 19th. We appreciate that what we have donated is merely a drop in the ocean in terms of the losses experienced by so many in the area, however we hope that our actions will bring some cheer to a small number of families, who were otherwise facing into a particularly difficult Christmas period.
